Boys Varsity Basketball closes non-conference schedule with 57-43 win over Capuchino

The Cougars played a rare game at the high school gym Saturday night, hosting PAL-South opponent Capuchino. HMB responded with a victory, extending their margin with every frame. The Mustangs were close until the five minute mark of the 4th quarter, trailing only 41-48 as they made 5 open three pointers in a short stretch. Cap's defensive strategy was to use a quick rotation of ten players and pressure/double team our guards high outside. When broken by the Cougars, the resultant 4 on 3's allowed Mykola Ediger in particular to make the Mustangs pay. He led all scorers with 25 on 12 of 19 shooting. PAL-North action begins on Tuesday the 8th as the Cougars visit Oceana at 5:30 pm.
