The Cougars played a rare game at the high school gym Saturday night, hosting PAL-South opponent Capuchino. HMB responded with a victory, extending their margin with every frame. The Mustangs were close until the five minute mark of the 4th quarter, trailing only 41-48 as they made 5 open three pointers in a short stretch. Cap's defensive strategy was to use a quick rotation of ten players and pressure/double team our guards high outside. When broken by the Cougars, the resultant 4 on 3's allowed Mykola Ediger in particular to make the Mustangs pay. He led all scorers with 25 on 12 of 19 shooting. Ben McKnight added 14, including three treys in the third quarter as Cap was making its run. Sorie Syme netted 10 on strong inside play. PAL-North action begins on Tuesday the 8th as the Cougars visit Oceana at 5:30 pm.
