The Cougars came out with intensity. Their defense held the Tigers to 29% shooting and only 5 first half field goals. On the other end of the court, Terra Nova had no answer trying an extended 2-3 zone, a 1-3-1, traditional man to man defense and several presses. Half Moon Bay shot 58% in the first half and improved to 67% in the second. The Cougars did not let up until the 6:39 mark of the 4th quarter at which time they held a 58-29 advantage. Leading the way for HMB was Sorie Syme, who led all scorers with 21 points (on 10 for 15 shooting) and 7 rebounds, 3 assists and a blocked shot. While Sorie owned the paint, Mykola Ediger owned the perimeter, adding 17 points on 6 of 8 shooting (including 5 threes), 5 assists and 3 'bounds. The win moves the Cougars to the top of the P.A.L. North with a 4-1 record. They next meet at Jefferson on Tuesday night at 5:30 in a rematch of a non-conference tournament game in December where they nipped the Grizzlies in 3OT's.
