The non-league match up in Carmel pitted the 18-4 #3 seed in CCS Division IV Cougars against the 16-5 #4 seed Padres.  Adding to the interest were big men, HMB senior Ethan Menzies and Carmel freshman JT Byrne, who each have season averages of 19 ppg on 60% shooting from the field and 70% or better from the line.  Byrne had the early advantage, with 8 points in Q1 -vs- Menzies with 2, though Ethan had the upper hand on the evening leading all scorers with 26 points on 12 of 13 shooting from the field to JT's 15 point total.  Joining Menzies in double digits were David Billington and Danny Mack.  The Cougar attack distributed the ball well as evidenced by their 72% field goal % inside the arc.  Its defense led to 10 steals.  Half Moon Bay will finish regular season league play Tuesday evening at El Camino.
