Half Moon Bay  fell to Palo Alto 62-45 in the first round of the Burlingame tournament. It was a back and forth first quarter that ended with a buzzer beater to put them ahead 17-14. The second quarter was dominated by Palo Alto. The Vikings hot shooting combined with Half Moon Bays cold streak and Ethan Menzies in foul trouble led to a 24-2 quarter that proved too big of a hole for Half Moon Bay to come back from. The cougars fought hard in the second half and were led by Sam Treanor who was excellent all night and led all scorers with 29 points. Ethan Menzies added 13.  Palo Alto’s bench out scored the cougars 16-0 and they showed why they are ranked #4 in the Bay Area
