Half Moon Bay defeated Scotts Valley 62-40 in the Cougar's first home non-conference game to cap a triple header at the new CUSD gym.  The home team got out to a comfortable lead in the first quarter behind the hot hand of Senior Sam Treanor who had 11 first quarter points on 4 of 5 shooting from the field and Danny Mack with 6 on 3 for 3 accuracy.  This allowed coach John Parsons to spread the minutes with all Cougars seeing meaningful action.  Treanor led HMB scoring with 18 points followed by Ethan Menzies with 15 and Mack with 10.  Leaders off the bench were Juniors Cole Anderson with 6 on 3 for 4 shooting and Chase Hebb with 5 on 2 for 3 from the field.  Scotts Valley's Reece Stratford led all scorers with 22 on 8 for 21 from the field and 5 of 8 from the line for the Falcons.  The Cougars return to action after Christmas with the Santa Cruz tournament.

The Half Moon Bay JV Team established a commanding lead in the first half and went on to win 53-39 over Scott's Valley in their opening home game. The Cougars were led by Sean Kennedy (16 points) and Teo Lincoln (10 points).
